Most of the text we read and come across on a daily basis is expository text. Ask students to collect expository text and begin a study of text features and functions. Creating a bulletin board with text samples and explanations will inspire authentic reading and writing experiences. What functions as quality exposition? What composition and/or narrative techniques are unique to biography, memoir, essays, or journalism? We'd love to hear from you at www.schoolwideblog.com.
We read expository text every day.
Let's become part of the action! What will you write today?
