Schoolwide's Writing Fundamentals Units of Study for grades K-8 are categorized in three ways: Genre Studies, including Poetry, Personal Narrative, and Nonfiction; Craft Studies, including Author Studies; and Launching Units. The explicit, sequential, teacher-friendly mini-lessons and accompanying touchstone/mentor texts provide educators with the instructional support and resources necessary to teach genre and craft, and to explore the qualities of good writing.
