It was very refreshing to hear about the amount of time (45-50 minutes, everyday) for writing workshop. I've been trying to encourage this thinking in our district for a few years now. Those teachers who have embraced the idea, have witnessed their writers make effective progress and love to write. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for your comment. It does take commitment and dedication to make the time in the day. But there is no question it pays off. Try getting those teachers who are doing it to share with other teachers in your school/district. Teachers who figure out ways to make ww work in their schedule can make a big impact on their peers.

I like your thinking! I know first hand the pay off for making the committment. I'll need to figure out a way to entice teachers who have figured it out to share their enthusiasm with their peers.
